House Bill #573 for the use of medical marijuana was approved and made into law for the state of New Hampshire on the 23rd of July, 2013.
Authorized by the bill is the use of medical marijuana throughout the state and the creation of a registration card identification system, which will permit the establishment of up to four not-for-profit alternative treatment centers. It is intended for the use of physician-designated patients and their designated caregivers. Possession of a valid and current ID card is mandatory.
The Centers are located in Dover, Lebanon, Merrimack, and Plymouth. A qualified patient may choose any one of the four as his or her primary medical cannabis dispensary, but then is obligated to stay with that dispensary until such a time as she or he changes residence.
There is a one time registration fee of $50.00. New Hampshire accepts all current medical marijuana cards from other states.
Conditions approved for the use of medical marijuana include:
Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease; spinal cord injury and chronic trauma; AIDS/HIV; glaucoma, cancer; hepatitis C; ALS; MS; Crohn’s disease; chronic pancreatitis; lupus; epilepsy; traumatic brain injury; anorexia from chemotherapy; severe and/or constant nausea and vomiting; seizures and persistent spasms of the musculature; intraocular pressure above normal levels; and any other illness or symptom when is either diagnosed as terminal or which cannot be treated with more traditional and moderate medical means.
